The Deacon Family by Peter Deacon,
White Lake: The Later Years

I had a fascination with the gristmill - seeing those big stone grinding wheels turning grain into feed for pigs and cows. The grinding wheels were driven by a large water wheel in Waba Creek. Behind the sawmill was a hug sawdust pile which we enjoyed sledding down, often landing in the cold creek water.

Our first TV. All the kids in the village would congregate in our living room every Saturday to watch 'Cowboy Corner'. White Lake was a great place to raise a family. Everyone cared about each other.
